A couple months ago I upgraded my cell phone to the Motorola v710 through Verizon Wireless. Although this is a great phone, I wanted to access the internet from the phone to check sports scores, weather, email, etc. The v710 is more than capable of doing that, but Verizon charges an additional $5.00 per month to access the internet and makes it appear as though you have to use their service!
